Youth
No More Tears recognizes the unique opportunity to employ our returning Facilitators, each who possess years of experience, as credible messengers and youth mentors. According to the Credible Messenger Justice Center, Credible Messengers are individuals who are able to connect with and motivate the most at-risk young people to successfully challenge and transform destructive thinking, attitudes and actions.
Our Youth Program will consist of a youth-oriented adaptation of our violence and crime reduction workshops and healing circle series. This curriculum will specifically address youth's challenges and socio-emotional needs in schools, juvenile facilities, and youth-focused community organizations.
The workshops will include:
Interactive skits
Individual worksheets and writing assignments
Small group breakout sessions and group writing assignments
Large group discussions
Healing circles
Testimonials from guest speakers, facilitators, and students
Accountability partners
Knowledge and growth assessment tool (pre and post surveys)
Youth Mentorship Program
Our Youth Mentorship program fosters skill development through office organization, public speaking/communication, and leadership opportunities while engaging in mentorship sessions focused on aspiration exploration, life hurdles, and emotional wellness.
This includes youth involvement in our Healing Circles, 1-on-1 mentoring sessions and 1- 2 hrs per week of paid career and education exploration opportunities.
